About the Adventure Hounds
Hello, I'm Emilie, the proud owner of The Adventure Hounds. Our mission centers around understanding dog behavior and meeting each dog exactly where they are, tailoring our approach to their unique needs. Dogs communicate differently from humans, and when we learn their language, it transforms how we connect with them. This deeper understanding opens up endless possibilities for fostering trust and creating stronger bonds. At The Adventure Hounds, we provide a safe, enriching space for dogs to truly be dogs—to play, learn, explore, and thrive within a pack environment. Our program is designed to support your dog’s growth and well-being while respecting their individuality.
I began my professional journey in Los Angeles, where I was fortunate to find a vibrant community of like-minded dog enthusiasts. In 2021, I decided to return to my roots in the Midwest and bring this unique approach to dog care to Toledo, Ohio. I have a sweet and spirited Mini Australian Shepherd named Rooney who is both deaf and blind. Born as a Double Merle due to improper breeding, Rooney's special needs have given me a deeper understanding of how dogs learn and interact with the world. It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience to care for her, as she constantly challenges me to think outside the box and find creative solutions. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from her every day.
